In 2013 Australian New York City resident Yael Stone played inmate "Lorna" Morello In the film Orange Is the New Black. Yael Stone was a graduate of NIDA. From a young age, Yael has been lucky enough to work with the best storytellers in Australia, brilliant stars of the stage and visionaries working behind the scenes of film as well as theatre and television. Yael's career is rich throughout Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael was pleased to have found her new home when Brooklyn Academy of Music, in which the play was staged with critical acclaim, became her new home in New York City. Yael created The Cannery with her co-founders. In the Bushwick Brooklyn studio The Cannery encourages new and creative writings and encourage innovative thinking.
